Are you ready to take your clinical career to the next level? Grampians Health – Ballarat is offering up to three unique Hybrid ICU/Medical Registrar positions, blending the best of acute general medicine and intensive care.
Why This Role?
This is a rare and dynamic opportunity for registrars looking to expand their skill set across both General Medicine and Critical Care. Over 12 months, you’ll rotate through:
6 months in General Medicine – build your diagnostic and patient management expertise in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
6 months in the ICU – gain hands-on experience caring for critically ill patients in a busy, high-acuity setting.
You'll be part of a progressive regional health service with strong links to metropolitan hospitals and a reputation for clinical excellence and supportive training.
What You’ll Do
Medical Rotation
- Deliver high-quality care to inpatients and attend outpatient clinics under consultant supervision.
- Participate in daily ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, and manage referrals.
ICU Rotation
- Provide frontline care to critically ill patients under the guidance of experienced ICU consultants.
- Work alongside ICU HMOs during admissions and respond to MET/Code Blue calls across the hospital.
- Manage acute deteriorations in collaboration with ED and ward teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- A strong interest in developing expertise across both General Medicine and Intensive Care.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to high standards of patient care and professional development.
