Full time fixed term (76 hours per fortnight) Maternity leave cover (12 month contract)
About the role
Ballarat base hospital proudly part of Grampian's Health invites you to apply for the Clinical Nurse Educator position within the Nursing & Midwifery Education Unit, working from Ballarat campus in a fixed term- full-time capacity. This position will provide support and supervision to undergraduate nursing students in acute, subacute, residential and you will be responsible for providing direct clinical support and instructions, helping students develop their learning and confidence, and assessing students against their standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities

Facilitate clinical workplace experience at the bedside with the student while participating in patient and client care.

Report directly to the Placement Coordinator and Early Career Lead.

Liaise with the Placement Coordinator at Grampians Health and partnering Education Providers in relation to student placements, rostering of students, assessments and progression.

Co-ordinate and manage the allocated student roster to maintain a current, accurate data base of information.

Collate and write reports using accurate performance criteria as required in relation to the student placement, this includes formative and summative assessments and mid and final placement feedback.
Skills and Experience
-
A tertiary qualification in nursing practice and registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency as a Registered Nurse

A tertiary qualification in field of adult education and/or Cert IV in TAE or working towards

An understanding of education frameworks including Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment
-
Experience working within the healthcare setting, well-developed understanding of all clinical areas, disciplines and the ability to develop and maintain internal and external partnerships
-
An understanding of administration and clinical workflows as they relate to the learners on placement
-
Well development IT skills, written and verbal skills
