About the role
Grampians Health is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker for the role of Grade 2 Counsellor/Advocate at the Ballarat Centre Against Sexual Assault. This is a permanent role, and both full time and part time applications are welcome.

Key Responsibilities:
• Primary clinical responsibilities include trauma-informed counselling and advocacy work for victim/survivors of sexual violence; therapeutic treatment of children and young people exhibiting harmful sexual behaviours;
• Participation in the after-hours roster.
• Manage intervention plans, risk and psychosocial assessments, and write reports for clients.
• Provision of counselling, intervention, advocacy and evaluation.
• Attend regular staff meetings to review agency priorities.
Skills and Experience:
• Sound knowledge and experience in undertaking psychosocial assessments
• Experience in provision of trauma-informed therapeutic intervention and/or case management support
• A sound understanding of the impacts of sexual and family violence
• Well developed communication skills and the ability to advocate and work collaboratively in the pursuit of client are required.
• Experience in working in community and healthcare settings with an emphasis on sexual assault and family violence would be a highly regarded attribute.
