Fixed term for 18 months - part-time

 

About the role

The DELIVER Research Translation Coordinator will assist in building health research capacity and capability across the Western Region of Victoria by supporting research development and translation within Western Alliance member organisations. The roles will have a focus on leading and supporting research and translation initiatives as part of the DELIVER program.

 

DELIVER Program

DELIVER (Delivering Enhanced healthcare at home through optimising Virtual tools for older people in Rural and regional Australia) is a Medical Research Future Fund 5-year research program that seeks to address key challenges to providing sustainable and effective home-based care to older people in rural areas. It is an exciting opportunity that brings together for the first time, rural healthcare providers, academic health science centres, universities, national peak bodies, and consumers.

DELIVER is led by the Western Alliance (https://westernalliance.org.au). Established in 2014 and incorporated as a registered health promotion charity in 2016, Western Alliance brings together outstanding leadership in research, education and evidence-based clinical care for regional and rural/remote communities in the western region of Victoria. Western Alliance’s mission is to deliver collaborative health-care research and capability building programs that improve service delivery and health outcomes in regional and rural Victoria.

 

 Key Responsibilities

  • leading and/or driving DELIVER research initiatives and capability building at Grampians Health
  • taking responsibility and accountability for maintaining DELIVER research governance and reporting
  • engaging internal and external stakeholders in collaborations with DELIVER research
  • undertaking DELIVER research and/or translation activities that are relevant, appropriate, and aligned with Grampians Health and where possible, involve collaboration with other health services
  • building research capability and capacity across the Grampians Health workforce

 

Skills and Experience

  • Recognised professional entry qualification in nursing, medicine, an allied health discipline, public health, health promotion or other relevant health related qualification
  • Completed a PhD or within the last 6 months of PhD candidature or relevant research experience
  • Eligibility for membership with appropriate professional body and current registration with AHPRA (if applicable)
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience working in the health sector
