IT Service Desk Operator

80 hours per fortnight + a monthly ADO 
$29.58–$33.79 per hour

 

About the role

Step into a dynamic, fast-paced role supporting end users as the first point of contact. This position blends IT service delivery with procurement, administration, stock management, and high-volume incident handling

 

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Administrative Support:

  • Manage purchasing, receipt, and distribution of IT equipment and consumables.
  • Liaise with suppliers to fulfill purchase requests efficiently.
  • Monitor and replenish inventory—track stock movements and generate regular inventory reports.
  • Maintain accurate records in procurement and ITSM systems.

IT Support & Service Delivery:

  • Serve as the first responder for IT support—handling incoming calls, emails, chats, and portal requests.
  • Triage, categorize, prioritize, and log high volumes of tickets into the ITSM system efficiently
  • Diagnose and resolve common hardware, software, network, and VPN issues per SLAs. Escalate complex issues promptly 
  • Manage the IT phone system—ensure all incoming calls are answered, inquiries logged, and responses timely
  • Assist users both remotely and in person, with empathy and clarity

Data Quality and Integrity:

  • Ensure a high standard of correctly classified data is entered into the ITSM system for accurate reporting.
  • Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the collection and use of high-quality data.
  • Ensure all clinical and administrative data is accurately recorded and entered into information systems to maintain quality and integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with individual logons and other data security measures required for information systems.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience providing administrative support, ideally within IT settings (healthcare experience a plus).
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills—desktop applications, networking, peripherals (printers, phones), and common IT tools
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills; adept at handling high volumes of diverse user calls
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively during peak ticket demand (e.g. new rollouts, system updates)
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong customer orientation and sensitivity to confidentiality—especially in clinical/healthcare environments
