About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Secure Extended Care Unit (SECU) in a part time or full-time permanent role. Up to full time hours available.
This opportunity is ideal for Occupational Therapists experienced in mental health or those from other fields interested in transitioning to mental health practice in a supportive environment.
In this role, you’ll provide occupation-based therapy in individual and group settings, contributing to care, treatment, and discharge planning for consumers. You'll be a key player in our therapeutic program and help strengthen our allied health workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and evaluate evidence-based individual and group occupational therapy interventions for individuals with mental health conditions.
- Participate in regular supervision, professional development, and engage with the Grampians Mental Health and Wellbeing Service Occupational Therapy network.
- Lead and coordinate the multidisciplinary therapeutic group program, and contribute to the multidisciplinary team with both discipline-specific and generic expertise.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Team and Lived and Living Experience Workforce (LLEW) to support care planning for discharge and transfers.
- Lead sensory modulation assessments and interventions to promote wellbeing, manage distress, and enhance participation in meaningful activities.
- Assist with NDIS applications for SECU consumers.
Skills & Experience
- Unrestricted registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA).
- An approved Degree from a recognised school of Occupational Therapy or other qualifications approved for eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Occupational Therapy (Vic.).
- Minimum of 2 years experience post graduate.
