About the role

An opportunity to join the growing Emergency Medicine Service of Grampians Health.

These positions are based at the Stawell Urgent Care Centre, however there are opportunities to work across multiple campuses (Ballarat, Edenhope and Horsham) on occasions as negotiated. Be part of a new professional Emergency workforce with access to participate in the training programs offered through the GH Emergency Services stream as well as the wider GH organisation.

GH – Stawell is located on the main highway between Melbourne and Adelaide, approximately 220 km west of Melbourne

 

The hospital services the communities of Stawell and the Northern Grampians Shire encompassing Halls Gap and Pomonal where visitor numbers surge across the holiday periods. Stawell is also the home of the Stawell Gift which is held each Easter and sees the town visitor numbers increase significantly. The Stawell Urgent Care Centre offers first line treatment and management of up to 5000 presentations per year with a varied case mix that includes general medical and surgical, paediatrics, trauma and psychiatry. The service works closely with the GH and Ambulance Victoria Partners to stabilise and transfer those patients whose medical needs exceed the capability of the hospital. Patients are retrieved from a helipad located outside the UCC.

 

The NP will be an integral clinical leader in the Stawell UCC, working with a dynamic team of motivated nursing staff with access to the resources of the Emergency Departments of Ballarat and Horsham. The NP role is becoming and integral component of the Emergency Services of GH providing a collegial network within which to work.
