Occupational Therapist Graduate (Mental Health)

$36.62 per hour + salary packaging | Mental Health Occupational Therapist (Graduate)

Full time Fixed term (80 hours per fortnight with monthly ADO) – 2 year program | Commencing early 2026

 

About the Role

Kick start your career with a structured and supportive graduate program designed to help you grow your clinical confidence and skills in mental health. You'll rotate across both inpatient and community settings, working with multidisciplinary teams that value collaboration and person led care.

  • Two 12-month rotations across inpatient and community mental health teams
  • 8 hours of protected learning time per week
  • 10 days of paid professional development (as per EBA)
  • Group and individual supervision + support to meet OT competencies
  • Assistance to transition into ongoing employment with GMHWS

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-led OT assessments and care
  • Provide best practice, recovery-oriented interventions
  • Work closely within a multidisciplinary team including Lived Experience staff
  • Contribute to care planning that supports consumer goals
  • Engage in the Graduate Program and all associated education activities
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation

 

Skills & Experience

  • Registered Occupational Therapist (AHPRA)
  • Recognised Occupational Therapy degree or equivalent
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Strong interest in mental health and recovery oriented care
  • Committed to learning, reflection, and professional growth
