Job Title: Ward Clerk – Oxley Ward
Classification: HS1A – HS1 | $27.75 – $32.69 per hour

About the Role
Grampians Health is seeking enthusiastic and organised Ward Clerks to join the Oxley Ward team. Oxley is a 30-bed Acute Medical Ward with four attached High Dependency/Intensive Care Unit beds. This is a great opportunity to become part of a professional healthcare team providing high-quality administrative support to clinical staff, patients, and families.
We have both permanent part-time and casual roles available, offering a flexible mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts. Standard shifts range from 4 to 8 hours, with the potential for additional hours through leave coverage.
About You
You are a compassionate and reliable team player with strong interpersonal and clerical skills. You take pride in your attention to detail and have the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy hospital environment. You bring empathy to your work and understand the importance of patient-centred service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality frontline reception and administrative support to the ward
- Deliver friendly and professional customer service to patients, families, and staff
- Manage patient documentation and data entry using hospital systems
- Assist with the coordination of patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare or clerical environment (desirable)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient information systems
- Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
