Fixed Term Part Time, 28 hours per week (until March 2026)
RN28 - $55.98 per hour

 

About the Role
Are you passionate about guiding the next generation of registered nurses? An exciting opportunity is available within the Nursing and Midwifery Education Unit for a Clinical Support Nurse Aged Care – EN Transition to Practice Program.

 

This role is ideal for a Registered Nurse with a strong interest in clinical supervision, mentoring, education, and extensive knowledge of clinical care across various settings. The successful candidate will provide direct supervision, support, and guidance to beginning practitioner graduates, helping them build confidence and clinical expertise within the aged care setting.

 

You’ll be working with the Transition to Practice Team to support early-career Enrolled Nurses employed in the aged care sectors within Grampians Health in Horsham, Dimboola, Edenhope and Stawell.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside graduates during clinical shifts to provide hands-on support and mentorship.
  • Provide constructive feedback and performance evaluations for graduate nurses.
  • Facilitate clinical study days and deliver targeted teaching and learning activities.
  • Monitor graduate attendance and readiness for specific client care experiences.
  • Supervise graduates’ care delivery and liaise with Nurse Unit Managers (NUMs) regarding graduate progress and clinical needs.
  • Build positive, empathetic, and professional relationships with graduates and communicate effectively with them and their clients.

 

Skills and Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in nursing practice and currently AHPRA registered as a Registered Nurse
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or working towards) or relevant tertiary qualification in education
  • An understanding of education frameworks including Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment
  • Experience working within the healthcare setting, a well-developed understanding of all clinical areas.
