About the Role
Join our Access & Triage Service, a fast-paced team at the frontline of mental health support. This role offers meaningful decision-making, diverse clinical exposure and strong multidisciplinary collaboration. You’ll work across telephone triage, acute response and the mental health emergency department, supporting people in crisis and guiding them to the right care.
• Complete mental state and risk assessments
• Assign triage categories and direct referrals
• Deliver acute crisis assessment and evidence-based care
• Assess consumers in the Emergency Department
• Support safe, timely return to community
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive mental health and AOD assessments
• Operate across Triage, Intake, Acute Response and MHED (ECATT)
• Create short-term clinical treatment plans
• Engage carers and families where appropriate
• Build strong interagency and community partnerships
• Contribute to coordinated multidisciplinary responses
Senior clinician responsibilities (where applicable):
• Lead clinical activity and team practice
• Guide complex clinical presentations
• Coordinate team meetings and case reviews
Skills & Experience
• Relevant degree and professional registration (AHPRA or accredited body)
• Strong mental health and risk assessment skills
• Knowledge of Recovery Model and Mental Health & Wellbeing Act 2022
• Ability to coordinate care in a multidisciplinary setting
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice and AOD impacts
