Permanent Full Time 40 hours per week with a monthly ADO (Accrued Day Off) | Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm or 8:30am – 5:00pm
(Part time applicants considered - minimum 30 hours/4 Days required)

As part of our friendly Program Assistant team, you will be the first point of contact for many patients attending Allied Health services at Ballarat Base Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Centre (QEC). From reception and switchboard duties to appointment coordination, waitlist management and supporting clinical teams behind the scenes, you will play a key role in helping patients access the care they need. You’ll be supported by an experienced and collaborative team, with ongoing opportunities to develop your administration and healthcare service skills.
A day in the life
- Greet and support patients, families and visitors
- Manage reception across multiple Allied Health services
- Operate the QEC switchboard and handle enquiries
- Coordinate appointments, bookings and waitlists
- Support clinicians with essential admin tasks
- Maintain accurate patient records and data entry
- Collaborate with a friendly, team-focused workplace
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Administration/reception/customer service experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisation and time management
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Desirable:
- Experience in healthcare or medical administration
