About the role

Grampians Health is seeking enthusiastic new graduate Social Workers to join the team at the Ballarat Centre Against Sexual Assault (CASA). These roles are fixed term for 12 months, and both full time and part time applications are welcome.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary clinical responsibilities include supporting Counsellor/Advocates with intake, psycho-social and risk assessment, brief intervention counselling and advocacy work for victim/survivors of sexual violence; and for children and young people exhibiting harmful sexual behaviours;
  • Contribute to the development, facilitation and review of group programs provided by Ballarat CASA.
  • Assisting victim/survivors to access support through the CASA brokerage service where applicable.
  • Reviewing and updating CASA community education material to reflect current research and evidence; development and delivery of training to professionals and organisations across the Central Highlands region.
  • Attend regular staff meetings to review agency priorities and participation in supervision and professional development.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Sound knowledge of psychosocial and risk assessments and MARAM legislation
  • An understanding of trauma-informed care and/or case management support
  • A sound understanding of the impacts of sexual and family violence
  • Well developed communication skills and the ability to advocate and work collaboratively in the pursuit of client are required.
