Clinical Nurse Educator – EN Traineeship (East – Ballarat Campus)

About the Role
Join Grampians Health as a Clinical Nurse Educator within our Nursing & Midwifery Education Unit. Based at the Ballarat campus, this permanent part-time role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the development of our future nursing workforce.
The key responsibilities of this role include delivering of units, marking assessments, and facilitating simulation sessions and practical assessments within the Diploma of Nursing, in partnership with Federation University TAFE. Program delivery is provided through a blend of face-to-face teaching and online learning to ensure all unit requirements are met. Enrolled Nurse Trainees participate in a structured program, attending classes three days per week to complete the theoretical components of the Diploma, and spending the remaining two days in the workplace applying their learning with the support of our Clinical Support Nurse (CSN) team.
The role works in close collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Educator – EN Traineeship (West) and Clinical Support Nurses to promote consistency in processes, practices, and communication across campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee teaching requirements and assessment tasks for the Ballarat EN Trainee Program, demonstrating sound knowledge of the Diploma of Nursing training package.
- Work closely with our partner, Federation University TAFE, to ensure compliant and effective delivery of Diploma of Nursing units.
- Facilitate classroom, online, and simulated learning; deliver assessments; and ensure timely adherence to education processes.
- Monitor compliance with mandatory training.
- Provide hands-on clinical teaching and support alongside students in patient care settings.
- Collaborate with the CSN team to support trainees in achieving their clinical objectives.
- Report directly to the Early Career Lead ensuring accurate reporting and documentation of student progress
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Must hold a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE).
- Strong knowledge of education frameworks, including the Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment (BPCLE).
- Sound knowledge of the Diploma of Nursing training package and the role, responsibilities, and scope of practice of Enrolled Nurses.
- Significant clinical experience across a range of healthcare settings with the ability to develop and maintain strong professional partnerships.
- Understanding of administration and clinical workflows as they relate to learners on placement.
- Well-developed IT, written, and verbal communication skills.
