Clinical Nurse Educator – Student Placements
Permanent | Full-time | 76 hours per fortnight

 

About the Role
Grampians Health –is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Educator – Student Placements to join our Nursing & Midwifery Education Unit. Based primarily at our Ballarat campus, this permanent full-time position plays a key role in the planning, coordination, and oversight of undergraduate nursing clinical placements.

Reporting directly to the Placement Coordinator, the Clinical Nurse Educator will be the central point of contact for placement bookings, managing the Placeright system, pre-placement administration, and compliance with the Department of Health’s Standardised Student Induction Protocol (SSIP). The role also involves preparing reports, managing funding accounts, and providing support to Clinical Nurse Educators – Undergraduate Programs and/or students as required.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic educator to contribute to the development of the nursing workforce while building strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage placement bookings for the Ballarat campus.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with universities, education providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee all pre-placement administration and ensure compliance with the Standardised Student Induction Protocol (set by the Department of Health).
  • Ensure placements align with curriculum requirements for the Bachelor of Nursing and Diploma of Nursing programs.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Educator – Student Placements (West) to manage rostering, data entry, and reporting via Placeright.
  • Prepare and process monthly accounts in line with Department of Health guidelines.
  • Collate and present reports on placement activity and outcomes.
  • Provide direct clinical support to students when required.

 

 

Skills and Experience

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Tertiary qualification in adult education and/or Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or working towards).
  • Strong knowledge of clinical education frameworks, including Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in healthcare with a broad understanding of clinical areas and disciplines.
  • Proven ability to build effective partnerships and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational, administrative, and IT skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
