Clinical Support Nurse - Grad Program (East)

$56.64 per hour (RN28)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Support Nurse to join the Nursing and Midwifery Education Unit at Grampians Health Ballarat. Working as part of the Transition to Practice Team, you will provide direct clinical supervision, guidance and mentoring to early‑career nurses across a range of clinical areas. This role supports the development of safe, confident and competent practice, with a strong focus on building high‑quality clinical skills and professional capability. You will also promote and support adherence to essential safety practices, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe manual handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Work clinically alongside graduates as allocated for majority of the shift time to support graduates within the clinical setting
- Provide feedback and evaluation of graduate nurse’s performance.
- Participate in teaching and learning activities including the delivery and facilitation of clinical study days, Monitor graduates’ attendance and readiness for designated client care experiences.
- Supervising graduates and the care they provide to allocated clients; and liaise with NUMs regarding graduate requirements and clinical needs.
- Demonstrate an empathy and understanding of all graduates/consumers and communicate with graduates/consumers in an effective appropriate manner.
Skills & Experience
- A tertiary qualification in nursing practice and registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency as a Registered Nurse
- A tertiary qualification in field of adult education and/or Cert IV in TAE or working towards
- An understanding of education frameworks including Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment Experience working within the healthcare setting, and well-developed understanding of all clinical areas.
- Well developed IT skills, written and verbal skills.

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 - 2028. The classification is Clinical Support Nurse (RN28) which is $56.64 per hour.
