About the Role

The Parent & Infant Unit provides specialist, contemporary perinatal mental health care for families during pregnancy and throughout an infant's first 12 months of life. As an Enrolled Nurse, you will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse to deliver evidence-based, recovery-oriented and family-inclusive care in a supportive multidisciplinary team.

 

You will play an important role in supporting parents experiencing mental health challenges, promoting the wellbeing of parents, infants and families, while contributing to a safe therapeutic environment. This position primarily supports the unit's rotating roster with a strong focus on night duty.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete mental state and risk assessments.

  • Administer medications in line with clinical governance requirements.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

  • Deliver care under the direction of the RN/ANUM.

  • Support recovery-oriented, consumer-led mental health care.

  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for families and staff.

 

Skills & Experience

  • AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.

  • Medication endorsement is essential.

  • Knowledge of mental health nursing assessment.

  • Valid Working with Children Check and Victorian Driver Licence.

  • Experience in mental health nursing is desirable.
