About the role

Start your nursing career while you earn and learn. This Enrolled Nurse Traineeship offers a supported pathway into nursing, combining paid employment with formal study toward a Diploma of Nursing. You’ll gain hands‑on experience across Grampians Health services while studying through Federation TAFE, backed by one of the largest nursing workforces in the region. The program commences February 2027 and runs until early 2029.

Eligible participants can access Free TAFE, with tuition fees covered by the Victorian Government.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete Diploma of Nursing studies through Federation TAFE
  • Apply clinical learning in supervised workplace settings
  • Deliver safe, respectful care aligned with scope of practice
  • Work collaboratively with nursing teams and educators
  • Build foundational clinical and professional skills
  • Meet attendance, assessment and program requirements

 

Skills & Experience

  • LLN assessment at minimum Level 4 (TAFE enrolment)
  • Eligible for Australian Apprenticeship Incentives
  • Working with Children Check (volunteer)
  • Basic computer and keyboard skills
  • Reliable access to technology for online learning

 

Additional Requirements

  • Aged 18 years or over
  • Ability to work rostered shifts and attend classes
  • Willingness to travel for clinical placements if required

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 - 2028. The classification is Enrolled Nurse Trainee (IB40) which is $27.85 per hour.
