Fixed Term Fractional Specialist – General Surgeon
Grampians Health Ballarat is seeking to appoint a Fixed Term Fractional Specialist (11.13hrs per week) to join our General Surgery team.
The successful applicant will hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeon (FRACS) and demonstrate a broad scope of practice across general surgery. This role will provide essential service continuity through backfill of long service leave and short-notice roster gaps.
The position includes participation across a range of clinical settings, including outpatient clinics, operating theatre/endoscopy sessions and inpatient ward rounds. The applicant will also contribute to the General Surgery oncall and Acute Surgical Unit (ASU) roster.
In addition, the role includes supervision and support of junior medical staff, contributing to a strong culture of clinical governance, education and patient-centred care.

Grampians Health General Surgery has dedicated specialist consultant surgeons that cover Thoracic, Colorectal, Upper GI, Hepato-biliary, Breast, Endocrine, Plastic and Vascular surgery. There is a strong focus on emergency care with a dedicated acute surgical unit. A new robotics program has commenced in Ballarat and there are opportunities to participate in this exciting field.
