The Requirements
- AHPRA registration as a physician and specialist, or eligible to apply for such.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent in Respiratory (and preferably Sleep Medicine).
About the role
Grampians Health Ballarat have an opportunity for a Respiratory Medicine Physician participating in a mix of ward service, ambulatory clinics, on call and weekend roster depending of clinician skill mix. This includes supervision of an Advanced Trainee in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine selected through the Victorian PMCV match and a Basic Physician Trainee.
About you
You will be suitably experienced in the field of Respiratory and preferably Sleep Medicine and seeking a rewarding career through your contribution to a large regional tertiary referral hub and spoke health service with a growing role in teaching and the professional development of Interns, HMOs and Registrars.
As a consultant physician you will be expected to work within your scope of practice and will be subject to Grampians Health Credentialing Committee’s jurisdiction whist working with us. You will report to the Clinical Director of Medical Services.
General Medicine & Speciality Team
The General Medicine & Speciality Teams at Grampians Health are an integral part of Internal Medicine and sits within the Hospitals Directorate. The General Medical and Specialty Units has approximately 120 inpatients each day across two campuses with seven general medical units.
The Internal Medicine Service provides general medicine that also oversees gastroenterology, endocrinology, neurology, rheumatology, perioperative and obstetric medicine. In addition, there are independent neurology, nephrology, oncology, haematology and cardiology units providing a weekday and on-call service. General Medicine is also well supported by geriatrics, palliative care and rehabilitation services as well as a hospital-in-the-home service that functions across our campuses.
