About the Role

The purpose of this role is to partner with staff across Grampians Health to promote quality, safe systems and improvement activities. The role will support use of organisational risk and quality systems and processes through coaching and mentoring. We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate individual, who is driven to promote safe, effective, person centred care.  The successful applicant will be able to provide high quality support and advice to operational directorates and Executive staff on the Risk Management and Governance Frameworks. This role can be based in Ballarat, Horsham, Stawell, Edenhope or Dimboola.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead investigations into serious incidents and thematic reviews, providing timely reports that align with established policies.

  • Assist with safety processes related to incident reporting, clinical investigations, and legislative compliance to drive improvements.

  • Offer expertise in areas such as systems thinking, operational excellence, change management, and data analytics to enhance governance and quality.

  • Provide education and support for staff on the use of the GH Incident Management database and promote compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.

  • Support and monitor the implementation of the Risk Management Framework in accordance with regulatory requirements and participate in periodic and annual reviews.

 

 

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • A qualification in a clinical health profession is preferred but not essential; relevant AHPRA registration is required if applicable.

  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications are preferred to enhance expertise.

  • Experience or qualifications in Quality, Risk Management, and Improvement are advantageous.

  • Familiarity with safety analysis tools, such as Root Cause Analysis and the London Protocol, is beneficial.

  • Proven ability to coach and manage organization-wide change effectively.

  • Experience in developing and delivering education and training in a health or human services context, with strong communication skills to engage all members of the organization.
