IT Systems Manager Position

80 hours per fortnight with a monthly ADO

About the role

Grampians Health is seeking an IT Systems Manager to join the Digital Health.

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of systems, servers, and related infrastructure to maintain reliable and secure delivery of ICT support services. The successful candidate will be required to develop, maintain, support, and optimise key functional areas, including server infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, and integrations, as well as manage 3rd level IT systems and integration support staff, and supervise technical operational support teams.

The role will provide technical management of all operational aspects of the team to ensure success and timely resolution of incidents and service requests along with ensuing technical components of project work are completed to quality standards and balance the workload of the team. This role will ensure that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices (including security) are applied correctly. Additionally, contribute to the improvement of processes and documentation to ensure the systems team delivers operational excellence.

Working with IT Management Team, this role will design, plan and implement systems and integration infrastructure strategy, architecture and roadmap for Grampians Health (GH), and Grampians Rural Health Alliance (GRHA) member organisations.

 

 

Skills and experience

  • The successful candidate will have at least 7 years of professional systems administrator experience including 4 years of team and budget management in a medium to large organisation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience and relevant professional certifications (e.g., ITIL, Cisco, VMware, Microsoft)
  • Deep expertise in enterprise-level data centre infrastructure, networking, virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and storage solutions
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing technical teams
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Knowledge of integration systems and platforms (Rhapsody highly regarded)
  • Knowledge of Linux Systems (highly regarded)
