About the Role

The Consultant Anaesthetist will provide clinical anaesthetic services, including perioperative care, to patients of Grampians Health Ballarat.  Outreach service to Stawell and Horsham may be required intermittently.  This includes performing a share of on-call duties and responsibilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist anaesthetic services in Ballarat, and intermittently Stawell and Horsham.
  • Manage the full range of paediatric, adult & obstetric patients.
  • Participate in clinical research projects.
  • Undertake the supervision of Anaesthetic Registrars, HMOs & Nursing staff.
  • Participating in the ongoing review of their Clinical Practice

 

Skills and experience

  • Fellowship of ANZCA or equivalent and being registered as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • A medical degree registered with AHPRA.
  • Experience in anaesthetic service provision in a regional environment.
  • Experience in clinical anaesthetic care across a wide range of surgical specialties, including paediatrics and obstetrics.  Experience in thoracic and vascular anaesthesia preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with people at all levels
