Mental Health Clinician - Aged Community | Part time fixed term (56 hours per fortnight) Parental Leave contract
About the Role
The Mental Clinician in conjunction with the Senior Mental Health Clinicians and Team Leader provides comprehensive Bio - Psycho - Social clinical assessments,treatments and care with consumers and their families that are evidence based and best practice to enhance the person's recovery from mental disorder.
Key Responsibilites
- Expertise in the provision of evidence based and best practice assessment, treatment provision and care, at a level commensurate with the role and years of experience.
- To provide specialist support through primary, secondary and tertiary consultation to services through identification of complex needs and prioritzation of consumer, family and significant others needs.
- Actively and effectively work within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the generic and discipline specific clinical expertise of the team.
- Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments, identify and prioritise consumer and family needs and/or referral options.
- Manage a caseload of consumers as the primary treating clinician within a multidisciplinary team that emphasises, practices and continually seeks to improve person - centered, family inclusive and community based care.
- Evaluate the effects of implemented treatment of all consumers and their families in accordance with Grampians Health Mental Health Service policies, procedures and discipline specific standard.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant professional qualification in a health related discipline ( Nursing, Psychology, Social Work or Occupational Therapy ) with current registration.
- Minimum two years experience in a mental health setting
- Current Drivers Licence
- Sound understanding of Recovery Orientated Practice and the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022.
