About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for early career Social Workers to join the 2026 Grampians Mental Health & Wellbeing Service (GMHWS) Allied Health Graduate Program. This structured and supportive program is designed to help graduates build confidence, capability, and real-world mental health skills.
Participants will rotate across multidisciplinary settings and receive strong clinical supervision, along with ongoing professional development throughout the program.
Grampians Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (GMHWS) is offering two positions for early career Social Workers who currently live in the Grampians Region and have a passion for working with some of the most vulnerable members of the community. These roles form part of a two-year graduate program commencing in July 2026.
- Build mental health capability in a supported graduate role
- Rotate across two clinical settings
- Work within multidisciplinary teams
- Deliver recovery oriented, person-centred care
- Receive structured supervision and education
Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive psychosocial assessments
- Deliver evidence informed, recovery focused interventions
- Assess risk in line with legislation and policy
- Coordinate care within a multidisciplinary team
- Partner with consumers, families and carers
- Maintain accurate clinical records and data
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Social Work from an approved provider
- Eligible for AASW membership
- Interest in mental health and recovery oriented practice
- Knowledge of relevant mental health legislation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
