About the Role

Join the Meal Support Services (MSS) team at Grampians Health Ballarat and help support patient care through high‑quality food and menu services. As a Menu Monitor, you’ll work directly with patients to manage meal selections that meet clinical and dietary needs, while supporting ward food supplies and completing related administrative tasks. This is a hands‑on, patient‑facing role in a fast‑paced health environment, operating across acute and sub‑acute settings.

Shifts are predominantly 8 hours, commencing from 6:00am. MSS operates seven days a week, with weekend availability required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support patients with menu selection and dietary needs
  • Enter meal orders and complete related administration
  • Maintain ward food supplies and stock levels
  • Prepare supplementary meal and nourishment items
  • Communicate effectively with patients and care teams
  • Deliver a respectful, person‑centred food service

 

Skills & Experience

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of special diets or willingness to learn
  • Empathy and a client‑centred approach
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Basic Food Handling Certificate (HLTFSE001)
