About the Role

Grampians Rural Health Alliance has an exciting opportunity in the Information Technology department for a Network Engineer to join our busy team! The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring and maintaining Grampians Rural Health Alliance (GRHA) and Grampians Health (GH) network  infrastructure. The Network Engineer will work closely with the Network Engineering Team and Network Manager as required to identify efficiency in network and security that enables GRHA/GH to further invest in and enhance the network. This role will also support the transition of Maryborough District Health Service ICT services from Loddon Mallee Shared Services to GRHA.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Internet basics, including DNS, security, and IP routing.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network and security equipment such as firewalls, switches, and routers.
  • Monitor and assist with video conferencing meetings and access for staff.
  • Manage Quality of Service for enterprise wireless networks, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Assist in designing network configurations, including IP address schemes and routing protocols.
  • Ensure the availability of network services and perform various IT duties as assigned by management.  
  • Collaborate effectively with other network staff members, provide exceptional customer service, and demonstrate a strong desire to learn and grow within the team.

 

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in managing, configuring, and maintaining multi-site network and security infrastructure using virtual components and various service providers.
  • Proficient in configuring Fortinet firewalls, Cisco equipment, and BGP/OSPF routing protocols.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, manage conflicts, and foster teamwork.
  • Exceptional phone skills and customer service, with the ability to manage support activities in a team environment.
  • Skilled in isolating faults and rectifying issues in LAN, WAN, and VOIP networks.
  • Possesses a current Victorian driver’s license.
