About the Role
Lead the dedicated team within our 23-bed Adult Acute Unit (AAU), providing high-quality, recovery-focused care for adults experiencing acute mental health challenges. This is a rewarding leadership role offering autonomy, professional influence, and the opportunity to shape service delivery and team culture.
In this role, you will:
• Lead and support a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based care
• Provide expert clinical guidance and direction in day-to-day operations
• Manage and monitor staffing, budgets, and operational performance
• Drive quality improvement, professional development, and education initiatives
• Build collaboration across the broader Grampians Health mental health network
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strong clinical and operational leadership within the AAU
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, recovery-oriented mental health care
• Oversee workforce planning, supervision, and staff development
• Monitor and evaluate service performance and consumer outcomes
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Support integration with other mental health and hospital services
Skills & Experience
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
• Postgraduate qualifications in psychiatric/mental health nursing
• Demonstrated leadership within an inpatient mental health setting
• Advanced clinical knowledge and ability to manage complex presentations
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
