Postgraduate Midwifery Program – Grampians Health Ballarat

At Grampians Health, we are committed to excellence in nursing and midwifery education. In partnership with leading universities, we deliver a range of postgraduate programs—including our highly regarded Graduate Transition Year Program—designed to support the next generation of health professionals.

 

Our Maternity Services provide care for families across Ballarat and the wider region, welcoming more than 1,400 babies each year. The service includes:

  • A 16-bed antenatal/postnatal ward
  • A 3–4 bed birthing suite
  • A Level 4 Special Care Nursery with 8–10 cots, offering specialised care for infants who need additional support

 

We are proud to offer a 12-month Postgraduate Midwifery Program, tailored to support newly registered midwives as they transition into professional practice. This program provides:

  • A structured, supportive learning environment
  • Opportunities to consolidate knowledge and develop clinical confidence
  • Experience in providing holistic care during pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period
  • Exposure to neonatal care within our Special Care Nursery

 

Eligibility: Applicants must have completed a Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery within the past 18 months.

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 - 2028. The classification is Registered Midwife Grade 2 (YS2-YS8) which ranges from $42.41 - $52.20 per hour.
