About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Privacy & Health Information Sharing Clerk to support the organisation's privacy, health information management, and information sharing functions.

Reporting to the Privacy Officer, this role is responsible for processing requests for access to and disclosure of health information, supporting privacy incident management activities, conducting compliance monitoring, and contributing to privacy education and awareness initiatives.

This position plays an important role in maintaining compliance with privacy and health records legislation while promoting a culture of confidentiality, integrity, and responsible information management across the organisation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Release of Information: Process requests for release of health information in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements.
  • Privacy Administration and Support: Assist with the management of privacy incidents, assist with resolution and maintain documentation.
  • Monitoring and Compliance: Conduct routine audits of access, use, and disclosure of personal and health information. 
  • Education and Awareness: Support delivery of privacy education and awareness programs across the organisation.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience in release of information, health records management, privacy administration, or a similar healthcare or information management role.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and information management applications.
  • Sound knowledge of privacy, confidentiality, health information management principles, and relevant legislation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with accuracy and discretion.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
  • Well-developed customer service, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while also managing responsibilities independently.
