About the Role
Grampians Health is seeking an experienced Privacy Officer to lead privacy, confidentiality and information sharing governance across our organisation. Reporting to the Director, Health Information Services, you will provide expert advice, manage privacy risks and incidents, and drive a strong culture of privacy, transparency and compliance.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead privacy governance and compliance activities across Grampians Health. 
  • Manage privacy incidents, breaches, complaints and investigations. 
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments and support major projects and system implementations.
  • Provide expert advice on privacy, health records and information sharing legislation. 
  • Deliver privacy education and awareness programs.
  • Partner with clinical, digital health, cyber security and operational leaders to strengthen information governance practices

 

Skills & Experience 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management, Law, Privacy, Compliance, Information Governance or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in privacy, compliance, information governance or health information management. 
  • Strong knowledge of Victorian and Australian privacy legislation. 
  • Exceptional communication, investigation and stakeholder engagement skills. 
  • The ability to influence, educate and drive organisational change.
