Permanent Full Time - 80 hours per fortnight including a monthly ADO

 

About the Role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) leads education, training and professional development across community mental health programs. The role supports evidence-based, recovery-focused and family inclusive nursing practice through strong clinical leadership. You will collaborate closely with Team Leaders and educators to build workforce capability and support high quality consumer outcomes.

 

Core duties

• Lead education and professional development activities
• Provide expert clinical consultancy to teams
• Support recovery-focused, best practice care
• Mentor junior and early career nursing staff
• Strengthen quality, safety and clinical standards

 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical advice to Team Leaders in community settings
• Develop, deliver and evaluate education and training programs
• Mentor staff and model professional nursing practice
• Support quality improvement and safer care initiatives
• Coordinate clinical supervision and workforce development
• Lead graduate and postgraduate nursing programs

 

Skills & Experience

• Registration as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with AHPRA
• Postgraduate qualification in mental health nursing
• Advanced knowledge of MHA 2022 and recovery frameworks
• Strong clinical leadership and mentoring capability
• Experience working in community mental health services
