Regional Liaison Midwife

About the role
The Regional Midwifery Clinical Lead provides expert midwifery leadership across Grampians regional maternity services. The role focuses on strengthening clinical governance, improving safety and quality through evidence‑based practice, supporting service capability, and fostering collaboration across all maternity and newborn service providers in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead regional projects and improvement initiatives
- Build trusted and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders
- Facilitate education, capability building and continuous improvement
- Support clinical governance activities across birthing and non‑birthing sites
- Promote safe, high‑quality maternity and newborn practice across the region
- Uphold confidentiality, risk management, quality improvement and compliance requirements
- Model inclusive, patient‑centred values in every interaction
Skills & Experience
- AHPRA‑registered Midwife
- Minimum 5 years’ midwifery experience, including recent acute maternity practice
- Strong understanding of contemporary maternity and newborn care
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem‑solving capability
- Experience supporting staff to work confidently within full scope of practice
- Valid Victorian driver’s licence
