About the Role

Grampians Health - Ballarat is seeking dynamic and energetic Registered Nurse to join the Paediatric and Adolescent unit team.

The Paediatric and Adolescent unit is a 19 bed unit catering to the medical, surgical and psychological healthcare needs of children and young people within the Grampians region.

  • Rotate into senior positions as delegated by the Nurse Unit Manager

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Role models a positive vision for change and supports change management at both local and organisational level
  • Supports the Nurse Unit Manager and the team to review and evaluate best practice, evidence based clinical care
  • Develop professional practice in accordance with the health needs of the population and changing patterns of disease and illness
  • Ensures incidents regarding clinical practice are accurately documented and investigated
  • Analyse situations and make appropriate decisions in a timely manner

 

Skills & Experience

  • Be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and hold a current Practicing Certificate
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff at all levels within the organisation
  • Sound knowledge base in holistic care of patients and their families, with previous experience in the inpatient care of children and young people Desired
