About the Role

Grampians Health is currently seeking applications for the 2027 Registered Nurse Transition to Practice (Graduate) Program, at all locations. Grampians Health is committed to offering our Graduate Nurses ongoing employment including further rotations in our Enhancement year (Ballarat) or ongoing employment on other campuses. This program is designed to:

  • Develop self-confidence, critical thinking, decision-making, clinical skills, and clinical competence as part of the multifaceted role of the Registered Nurse.
  • Facilitate practical and theoretical learning opportunities.
  • Provide the opportunity to submit preferences of where you will be allocated prior to the conclusion of their Graduate transition program.
  • Include a comprehensive 4-day orientation program and a further 6 professional development days.
  • Allocate supernumerary time at the commencement of each rotation and regular Graduate debrief sessions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager and the team to support and enhance the core business of the designated clinical area
  • Actively participate in the Graduate Nurse Program, including completion of all requirements outlined in Graduate Orientation.
  • Be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal healthcare outcomes
  • Practice independently and interdependently assuming accountability and responsibility for their own actions and the delegation of care to other healthcare workers as required
  • Provide high-quality, comprehensive, and evidence-based patient-centred care whilst acting as a resource and role model to other staff

 

Skills & Experience

  • Be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and hold a current Practicing Certificate.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with experience.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills particularly with respect to time management.

  • Letter of Career Intent as per PMCV requirements(please mention which campus you are applying for : Ballarat, Horsham, Stawell or Edenhope or list your preferred campuses  from 1 to 4)
  • CV including two (2) professional referees: NB: (please refer to PMCV guidelines)
  • Certified copies of your Academic transcript including mid-year results of 4th year 
  • Certified copies of ALL Clinical Appraisals interim and final SUMMARIES (including 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th year of study) (please note-file must be less than 10MB when uploading)

 

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 - 2028. The classification is Registered Nurse Grade 2 (YP2 - YP9) which ranges from $42.60 - $54.40 per hour.
