About the Role

Join Grampians Health as a Psychiatry Registrar and deliver high‑quality mental health care across inpatient, community and acute settings. This role offers broad clinical exposure, strong consultant support and opportunities to develop within the RANZCP training pathway. You’ll work in a multidisciplinary environment, building advanced assessment, treatment and care coordination skills while contributing to safe, patient‑centred outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage patients across inpatient and community settings
  • Develop treatment plans and coordinate discharge care
  • Participate in ward rounds, clinics and consultation services
  • Complete clinical documentation and Mental Health Act requirements
  • Provide teaching and support to junior staff and students
  • Participate in on‑call rosters and training programs

 

Skills & Experience

  • Medical degree with current AHPRA registration
  • Eligible for or enrolled in RANZCP training pathway
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision‑making skills
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary mental health teams
  • Clear communication and documentation capability

Desirable: experience in psychiatry rotations and knowledge of the Mental Health Act.
