Research Lead (Industry Post Doctoral Fellowship)

About the role
The Research Lead (Industry Post Doctoral Fellowship) is a joint initiative between Grampians Health, Deakin University and the Western Alliance Academic Health Science Centre. This industry-based postdoctoral health service research fellowship is an innovative approach to addressing allied health workforce challenges in rural settings, (defined as Modified Monash Model categories 2-7). This fellowship aims to develop rural health professionals as researchers with skills in research collaboration, translation, and engagement with the objective of developing solutions to health service-specific challenges and opportunities.
The purpose of this fellowship is to build the capacity and capabilities of the rural health service workforce with a focus on health service-led research, evaluation, and quality improvement, in the context of a partnership between Deakin University, Western Alliance Academic Health Science Centre and Grampians Health. The proposed industry-based postdoctoral allied health research fellowship will develop a program of research around growing the capacity and capabilities of the rural health service workforce and will focus on two priority areas:
(1) Health service-led research, evaluation, and quality improvement
(2) Health service workforce in rural and regional areas
Key Responsibilities
- building research capability and capacity across the regional and rural health workforce
- contributing to the department/service’s research program
- collaborating with Western Alliance and Deakin Rural Health
Skills and Experience
- PhD or Masters in an area relevant to health and/or health services research
- Current AHPRA registration status (for registered professions) or eligibility for membership of professional association (for self-regulated and non-regulated professions) as applicable
- Extensive specialised knowledge in their profession or an area of their profession, and/or is at a supervisory level in one or more of the specific areas of their profession which require extensive specialised knowledge
