Grampians Health is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Senior Accounts Receivable Officer to support the delivery of high‑quality financial services across the organisation. This role is ideal for someone with strong AR expertise who enjoys leading by example and supporting continuous improvement within a busy operational environment.

 

About the role
The Senior Accounts Receivable Officer is a key member of the Accounts Receivable team, responsible for supporting the timely and accurate management of invoicing, receipting, debt collection, and customer account maintenance.

Reporting directly to the Coordinator – Accounts Receivable, this role provides higher‑level operational support, assists with complex and escalated matters, and offers day-to-day guidance to AR Officers. You will also contribute to process improvements, audit readiness, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

This position plays an important bridging role between frontline AR processing and team leadership, ensuring the smooth functioning of daily activities and high-quality service delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced Accounts Receivable duties including complex billing, reconciliations, and investigation of variances or discrepancies.
  • Support the Coordinator AR with workflow management, training, and guidance of AR Officers.
  • Manage escalated customer queries professionally and efficiently.
  • Assist in monitoring aged debt and support strategies to reduce outstanding balances.
  • Review AR transactions for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with audit standards.
  • Prepare reporting for internal stakeholders, including reconciliations, aged debt summaries, and service activity data.
  • Support process improvements and system enhancements across the AR function.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external customers.
  • Uphold Grampians Health values and contribute positively to the team culture.

 

About You
You are an experienced Accounts Receivable professional who prides yourself on accuracy, customer service, and supporting team success. You are comfortable acting as a subject matter expert and providing guidance to others.

 

To be successful you will:

  • Demonstrated experience within Accounts Receivable or similar financial operations.
  • Strong understanding of billing processes, debt management, and reconciliations.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to resolve complex queries.
  • Ability to support and mentor team members while working collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • A focus on continuous improvement and consistent service delivery.
