Speech Pathologist – Grade 2 Adult Acute

Fixed Term Full Time for 12 months | 80 hrs per fortnight (including monthly ADO)

Grampians Health Ballarat is looking for passionate experienced or early career Speech Pathologist keen to join our dynamic and innovative team. This maternity leave backfill position offers a rare opportunity to obtain a full time Grade 2 role in the acute setting with opportunities to work across a variety of programs in acute inpatients, specialist outpatient clinics and other programs.

 

As a Grade 2 Speech Pathologist you will have the opportunity to lead quality improvement activities, supervise junior staff and students and develop your leadership and management skills

Key Selection Criteria 

  • Degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent), eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia   membership/certification, and a current driver’s licence.
  • Clinical experience in assessment and management of adults with diverse diagnoses, delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based practice; VFSS/FEES experience desirable.
  • Ability to contribute to and lead quality improvement initiatives and support service development.
  • Experience in supervision, training, or professional support of others, with a commitment to ongoing learning and reflective practice.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, fast‑paced environment.
  • Well‑developed organisational and self‑management skills, including independent work, seeking support when needed, and alignment with organisational values.
