About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Team Leader to guide and support our Infant and Child Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (ICMHWS). In this role, you will work closely with Consultant Psychiatrists to provide day-to-day leadership for a multidisciplinary team, including individuals with lived and living experience in mental health. The team is spread across multiple locations in the Grampians region, so some regional travel is required.
As Team Leader, you will use your strong leadership abilities and clinical expertise to ensure the ICMHWS team is well-supported, trained, and resourced. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality, person-centered mental health care for infants, children, and their families, with an emphasis on safety, recovery, and making a real difference in their lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of the ICMHWS team, ensuring services meet clinical needs and KPIs.
- Monitor and improve team performance by implementing effective strategies.
- Foster a supportive work environment, encouraging professional growth and training opportunities.
- Conduct annual performance reviews, offering feedback and guidance for development.
- Address incidents and feedback, driving continuous improvement in service quality.
- Actively engage in governance meetings and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance mental health services across the region.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- AHPRA Registration, Nurse Division 1 with many years of relevant experience and a post graduate qualification in Mental Health or have completed a specialist undergraduate Mental Health Nursing Program or a specialist post basic course of training which led to previous registrations as a Division 3 Nurse; or
- Degree or Masters qualification in Social Work along with an Accredited Mental Health Social Work credential. Must be eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Minimum of 10 years’ post graduate experience;or
- AHPRA Registration, Degree or Masters qualification in Occupational Therapy and a minimum or 10 years’ experience post graduate experience; or
- AHPRA Registration, with at least 10 years of experience, but no less than 8 years and specialist endorsement from Psychology Board of Australia.
Desirable
- Post graduate qualifications in Child and Adolescent Mental Health
- Qualification and/or training in a management and/or leadership field
