Our campus offers comprehensive medical and surgical services across most specialties (excluding cardiac and neurosurgery), providing a diverse and stimulating environment for clinicians. The ICU is a 13-bed unit (funded to 9 ICU equivalents), admitting around 1000 patients annually. We’re co-located with a Coronary Care Unit and provide 24/7 cardiac catheter lab services.

About the Role
As a TY Fellow, you’ll join a welcoming and collaborative group of ICU consultants. Your roster will include:
- 1 week ICU
- 1 week outreach
- 1 week clinical support time (CST)
- 1 week off every 4 weeks
You'll also contribute to our on-call schedule, covering approximately:
- 45 nights per year
- 6 weekends per year
A second on-call consultant is always available for support.
Clinical Support & Teaching
During your CST week, you will:
- Lead registrar teaching (with a focus on Part 1 and Part 2 exam preparation)
- Support junior staff education
- Take ownership of a portfolio that matches your interests. Some CST duties can be completed remotely for added flexibility.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) with AHPRA registration
- Enrolled in the CICM Training Program and eligible for the Transition Year
- Proficient in core Intensivist skills such as vascular access, airway management, and ICU point-of-care ultrasound
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively
- Approachable and committed to fostering psychological safety within the team
- Able to escalate clinical or team issues promptly and appropriately
