General Services Assistant - Dimboola High Care

About the Role

The primary purpose of the General Services Assistant (GSA) is to perform a diverse range of food preparation & plating and environmental services related activities under the direction and supervision of the Support Services Manager.

 

The GSA supports patient centred care, including cleaning & housekeeping, food & beverage duties and ward support as listed in the award guidelines. Individual shifts will be rostered as either kitchen or cleaning duties in accordance with level of experience and training provided. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform kitchen and cleaning duties per infection control and hygiene standards
  • Prepare, plate, and serve meals to patients as rostered
  • Dispose of waste following Waste Management Policy
  • Manage and maintain equipment safely and effectively
  • Stock ward supplies and replenish consumables as needed
  • Provide clear communication and support to ward staff

 

Skills & Experience

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to patient-centred care and customer service
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Completion of HLTFSE001 – Follow Basic Food Safety Practices
