About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Food and Domestic Services Assistant and work in the Environmental Services department. The successful applicant must be able to provide a high standard of work and have excellent communication skills. The ability to work well with others in the team is important, as is the ability to work without supervision when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in prepare and cook basic meals, clean food areas and equipment, and deliver meals to patients.
- Perform general cleaning in clinical and non-clinical areas, including waste collection, vacuuming, and scrubbing.
- Manage soiled linen including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and packing.
- Work effectively as part of the Hotel Services team and meet cleaning and food safety standards.
- Provide high-quality service to both internal and external clients and adhere to infection control policies.
- Follow rostering guidelines, meet documentation requirements, complete mandatory training, and undertake additional tasks as requested.
Skills & Experience
- Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team.
- Dedicated to providing high-quality, people-focused service and able to make decisions to meet customer needs.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality, follows work practices and procedures, and is committed to health and safety standards.
- Willing to work weekends, variable shifts, and participate in in-service training, with a good grasp of personal hygiene standards and ability to work independently.
- Holding or willing to obtain Food Handling Certificate (HLTFSE001 - Follow Basic Food Safety Practices)
