About the Role
Support the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to provide leadership and direction to the clinical and non-clinical team members within the unit to a high standard of clinical and professional care.
- Be responsible for the development and implementation of processes and procedures
- Work rotating shifts including day, afternoon and night shifts
- Manage staff, participate in performance management and team member compliance
Key Responsibilities
- Encourage patients, carers and families to participate in all stages of care
- Promote evidence-based practice that has a problem-solving approach and is competency based
- Ensure patient centred nursing care is provided according to individual patient healthcare needs
- Liaise and effectively communicate with relevant medical, nursing and allied health team members regarding patient care
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registrations
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement and person-centred care
- Proficiency in the use of information technology
Desirable:
- Clinical Skills relevant to acute area
- Postgraduate/Certificate qualifications

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 - 2028. The classification is Nurse Unit Manager (YW11 – YW12) which ranges from $60.99 - $62.99 per hour.
