About the Role
We are seeking an experience chef the dynamic Food Services Team at Grampians Health! This exciting casual role offers you the chance to craft diverse and delicious meals for our patients, residents, and clients. Reporting to the Food Services Manager, you'll work from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM on a 5-day rotating roster, with opportunities to take on extra shifts. Key Responsibilities
- Handles all aspects of meal preparation and service, including plating and delivery.
- Completes cleaning tasks as scheduled and disposes of waste according to protocols.
- Works to manage costs and minimize waste.
- Accommodates diverse dietary needs and preferences, and checks requirements with a dietician.
- Works cooperatively with the team, trains new employees, and rotates into senior roles as needed.
- Orders kitchen supplies, checks deliveries, and communicates effectively with staff about changes.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a similar role as a chef
- A food handling certificate
- Experience in preparing and cooking vegetables in large commercial quantities
- The ability to manage and meet tight deadlines
- Effective communication skills
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene and cleanliness standards for a food services environment (Knowledge of HACCP)
