Health Care Worker - 14 hours per fortnight 

 

About the Role

The Health Care Worker (HCW) delivers respite services to clients of Community Options and their carers. Working under the CRS Team Leader/Coordinator, the role is primarily based at Barkuma House, a four-bed cottage located next to Grampians Health Horsham.

Barkuma House provides quality respite care for frail older people, supporting carers to take a break. Services include:

Overnight Community Respite:
24-hour short-term care in a homelike setting while carers attend to daily needs or take time away.

Centre-Based Day Respite / Community Access – Group:
Regular group activities, social outings and programs that offer engagement for clients and time out for carers.

 

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, or equivalent, that includes assist with medication component
  • Successful attainment of HLTFSE001– Follow Basic Food Safety Practices.
  • Successful attainment of HLTHPS006 – Assist clients with medication
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to prioritise and self-direct the workload effectively
  • Commitment to quality customer service and person-centred care
  • Driver’s license
