Grampians Health Horsham is seeking motivated and enthusiastic ACEM Registrar to join our Emergency Department team. With an immediate vacancy available, we can offer flexible 6- or 12-month contracts, making this an excellent opportunity for trainees seeking a regional emergency medicine experience, additional accredited training time, or a career-enhancing registrar role in a supportive environment.
ACEM has approved the department to host trainees at any stage of the FACEM training pathway, including those in Training Stage 4. Horsham ED is a Tier 3 linked ED, with Ballarat Base Hospital approved as the Host ED. We can provide up to 12 months of accredited core ED training time and we are accredited for TS4 training experiences
Horsham ED is a vibrant and thriving truly rural ED with a healthy mixture of FACEM (~60%) and (~40%) Rural Generalist Consultants. And with a vast patient catchment of almost 20% of the State and thus provides an exceptional opportunity for clinical exposure and growth.
Diverse Clinical Experience
Exposure to acute medical, surgical and trauma presentations, critical care and resuscitation, paediatrics, mental health, toxicology, orthopaedics and emergency procedures, with opportunities for Anaesthetics and ICU rotations.
Supported Training Environment
Consultant-led supervision, regular education sessions, simulation training, quality improvement activities and opportunities to teach junior staff and students. Horsham ED is the newest member of the Southwest Vic ATN (including Geelong, Warrnambool and Ballarat EDs,) thus leveraging region wide teaching with training cooperation with other sites within the network.
