About the Role
Stawell Medical Centre is seeking a friendly and organised Receptionist to join our team in a permanent part time role. Reporting to the Practice Manager, this position supports the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy medical practice and plays an important role in patient experience. 

 

You will be the first point of contact for patients and provide high-quality administrative support to clinicians and staff across the practice.

 

Key Responsibilities
• Greet patients and manage the reception desk
• Schedule, confirm and manage patient appointments
• Process Medicare claims and billing
• Handle receipting, balancing and banking
• Answer and direct phone enquiries
• Maintain accurate patient and practice records

 

Skills & Experience
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• High accuracy in data entry and appointment booking
• Confident computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a team

Desirable
• Knowledge of Medicare, MBS, DVA and TAC billing
• Experience using Best Practice or similar software
• Medical terminology or health industry experience
